Why do we give so much credence to what others think of us?

The truth is that we are responsible only for ourselves, and our own feelings.

**We are not responsible for the feelings of others, and we do not cause those feelings to surface.**

Just like for yourself, the feelings that they experience are those that they have created for themselves. Yet we regularly have the thought that OPT (other people’s thoughts) about us are more important than our own and so we try to manage OPT by editing ourselves constantly.
